1. Praise God for a young Japanese lady who became a Christ-follower at the beginning of December! She had been in my small discussion group at the church’s 30th anniversary retreat in September and on January 1 I learned that she had chosen to follow Jesus in December. Praise God!
2. Praise the Lord for a good beginning to the “Alpha” course in our church in January. While being led by a member of the English Department, both English-speakers and Japanese-speakers are attending, some of whom are not yet believers. Pray for the work of the Holy Spirit to be powerful in creating faith in Jesus Christ through the “Alpha” course.
3. Give thanks for wonderful ENHANCE Team meetings in January! It is a privilege for us to serve as pastor-to-missionaries alongside of a member-care team deeply committed to the health and well-being of RG workers and staff of national partners and partnering missions.
4. Praise God for the hundreds of evangelistic contacts being made with people in the Tohoku (N.E. Japan) affected by the 11 March earthquake and tsunami. Ask the Lord of the Harvest to bring many of these people to faith in Christ, asking the Father for more opportunities for our local church (MCC) to be directly involved as this year unfolds.
